Work With Me

My first son was born, and then I went back to work full time.  My second son was born, and then I went back to work full time.  My daughter was born… and I had enough.  I went down to part time, then casual, and soon… had emboldened myself, decided to start a business from home, and figured out how to become a work at home mom.

How I wish I had those years back, however, I know God was using that time to prepare me for what I’m doing now.

Do you understand these feelings?

I hated working for someone else.  Serving an agenda I didn’t fully believe in.  Being told that if my kids were sick, I better figure something out, because I had to be at work.  Doing work that didn’t fit in with my passions and values.

Now, as a work at home mom, I get to experience these feelings instead:

+ My first priority is my family

+ Sick days mean snuggles rather than guilt

+ I get to work in my yoga pants and messy bun

+ I rule my schedule, my schedule doesn’t rule me

+ The work I’m doing fills my heart, and I get to pour into it fully and passionately, while it simultaneously fills my cup.
