Finding God’s Purpose For My Life

February 8, 2019 by cecilyjoy 27 Comments

I can remember being a young teenager, up in my attic bedroom with the lace curtains.  A lot of time was spent sitting on my bed, staring out that window to the fields and mountains beyond wondering WHAT my purpose was.  I fully knew that God created me for a reason, but I couldn’t understand what he wanted me to do with my life.  I was so busy trying to think my way to finding God’s purpose for my life, that I had immobilized myself.

Setting Goals as a Christian

January 25, 2019 by cecilyjoy 7 Comments

I have spent a lot of time in my life wondering what God wants me to be doing.  In fact, I’d even say I’ve wasted a lot of time wondering what I should be doing.  I became very concerned with missing my “purpose,” and displeasing God.  Thankfully, God has things to say about setting goals as a Christian.

Healthy Cookbooks for Autoimmune Disease and Inflammation

Healthy-cookbooks-for-autoimmune-disease-and-inflammation

I did a small 2-part series on healing.  The first one was “Does God Heal Today?”  and the second one was “10 Bible verses about healing.”  Today I’m going to talk about 12 healthy cookbooks for autoimmune disease and inflammation.

A huge part of my healing journey (which is always in motion) is nutrition.

I have learned so much about nourishing my body through the adversity of being ill.  This is knowledge that I wouldn’t trade.  I’ve said over and over that I’m thankful I had the opportunity to learn this.  Without me or my son being sick… I may never have given myself the opportunity to dig into the healing power of the food God provided for us!

10 Bible Verses About Healing the Body

January 10, 2019 by cecilyjoy 18 Comments

Does God still heal today?  This question is heard around the world, and often, this is the very question that echoes in our own hearts when we (or a loved one) are struggling with illness.  Often, the first thing we need to do when we’re searching for healing is to turn to the Bible.  There are many Bible verses about healing the body, and we’ll get to them further into the post.

There’s no one that’s immune from illness or injury, it’s just a matter of how we’re touched (or throttled) by those very things.

Becoming a Mother Changed My Life – The Refining Fire of Motherhood.

Since becoming a mom for the first time, God has really made it clear to me that he is refining me.  Becoming a mother changed my life.  What I discovered when I became a mother was that God was using the refining fire of motherhood to change me.  One way he does this refining work is through bath time.  You parents know what I mean.

Choosing A Word Of The Year

December 17, 2018 by cecilyjoy 19 Comments
how-to-choose-your-word-of-the-year-featured-image

Choosing a word of the year is so important.  Another way of saying word of the year is a guiding word.  Choosing a guiding word (no matter what time of the year it is) is so important.

Yes, resolutions often fail, and yes, a year is a long time to make any sort of commitment.  But by choosing a word of the year, you’re giving yourself a guide post.

A problem for me, is that I often get distracted by new ideas.  Anyone who knows me well, would laugh at this and call it a colossal understatement.  My brain has so many new ideas, I’m like a dog getting distracted by a squirrel.

This isn’t all bad, but I have realized that I need to stay grounded and focused.  As I stand at the end of a year, and look ahead to the next, I want to ground myself with a word that can steer me and direct me.  Maybe it will be one word for you, or maybe it will be more.  But, you do need to give some thought to choosing a guiding word.

Read all the way through this post (or cheat and scroll to the bottom- no judgement- we all have those days) to find the option to receive a free worksheet that will help you identify your own word of the year.
