I want to help you to say ‘adios’ to the days that you feel like you’ve accomplished nothing. I hate that feeling, and I know that I can’t be alone in that.  When we learn how to be more productive in life, our joy increases, our health increases, and the amount that we can engage with our family and friends in a healthy manner increases.  So let’s talk productivity tips.

THIS POST PROBABLY CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS.  IF YOU WANT TO READ THE FULL DISCLOSURE POLICY, CLICK HERE.

I have a Facebook group (you should join it!) that talks all things wellness and intentional living.  Each week, I host an expert guest, and we tackle a new topic.  Most recently, I spoke with Faith, of Faith Marie Co.  Faith is a productivity specialist and pro.  We talked about why productivity is important for living well, and she was generous enough to share some of her productivity hacks.  The productivity skills she mentioned are the ones we will be diving into today.

Why Productivity is Important for your Health

The hard truth is that productivity is deeply linked to our health.

Whole health is a broad and deep matter.  Yes, it includes the first things we think of when we think “health,” such as nutrition and fitness.  But some huge components that we don’t always associate with health include our spiritual life, our social life, our family life, and our own relationship with ourselves. how-to-be-more-productive-in-life-productivity-hacks

When we have our priorities in orderit sets us up to be healthy.  But in order to keep that on track, we need to be productive.  If we lose productivity, or let our priorities slip, our health will suffer in one or more of those very important categories.

If you’re looking for how to be more productive  at work, or looking for tips for working moms to save time, or an organized working mom schedule, working mom tips, time management tips for stay at home moms, or successful mompreneurs… well, Faith is your girl, so check her out.

But for now, let’s dig into her top tips and tricks for productivity!

Productivity Tips to Make You More Productive in Life

  1. MINDSET – the #1 productivity hack

This is a huge productivity tip.  Without a healthy mindset, we’re not going to get very far.  I’m going to attach a photo just below here of my recent Instagram post that talks about my own journey with an unhealthy mindset.

Something Faith mentioned to us during our live was that clutter always equals chaos.

That could be mental clutter, spiritual clutter… or just plain physical clutter.  We’re talking unmade decisions, unanswered questions, toys littering your kitchen floor, and papers spilling across your counter tops… this is all clutter that leads to an internal feeling of chaos, which results in decreased productivity.

So you need to get your mindset straight, and you need to figure out how to decrease all that clutter.  You can always reach out to me, or to Faith, and we’d love to help you with that.

Another great option is Allie Casazza.  Allie is an expert in eliminating physical and mental clutter, and giving moms a little breathing space so they can truly find joy.  Allie has a couple great courses to help.  One is “Your Uncluttered Home.”  You can enroll in this right now.  The other course is “Unburdened.”  It’s a really comprehensive course.  It has intake dates, and is not always open for enrollment.  But that being said- you can get on the wait list!

      2. Morning Routine – huge for help on how to be more productive in life

This is HUGE for productivity!  I have found this to be very true in my own life.

When I have a plan and a rhythm for my morning, I can accomplish everything I need to in a day.  However, there productivity-tipshave also been days (more than a few), where I don’t follow my morning routine.  On those days, I’m confused by noon, and by bedtime, I’m in the dumps.

A morning routine comes down to priorities again.  Priorities are things that deserve your attention before competing alternatives (find the definition here).

What I find to be really helpful is to follow that definition, and LITERALLY put my priorities first in the morning.  That way, no matter what the rest of the day brings, you know you’ve taken care of the things that are most important to you.

     3. PLANNING AHEAD – a very important productivity tip

I love how Faith helped us break down this tip.  What I tend to do, is I often get caught up in my seemingly endless to-do list.

Faith encouraged us to look at the big picture.  What are your big goals and dreams?  Then, for each week, pick a couple main priorities.  Don’t feel like we have to do EVERYTHING all at once.  What happens then, is we fall short of our expectations for ourselves, and begin an unhealthy cycle of disappointment.

Faith made it clear to us that when we’re planning ahead, we should let out big goals drive us… not our to-do list.  I love that counsel for me, and for anyone who is wondering how to be more productive in life.

     4. THINK ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL WHEN YOU FUEL YOUR BODY WELL

On the days that you put good things into your body (lots of water, veggies, fruits, healthy protein), think about how you feel.

Do you feel stronger?  More capable?  Do you feel like you’ve won a victory by making healthy choices?  If you answered yes to any of those questions… hold onto that feeling.

For the hard days, where we’re struggling to be productive and make good choices, it’s important to be able to pull from remembered feelings of strength and capability.

I love this, because it’s not one of those productivity hacks that I normally think of.  But, it makes a lot of sense that this would work!avoid-vicious-cycle-of-sleep-deprivaton

      5.  SLEEP – don’t neglect this productivity tip

I love this one.  I mean, what sane adult wouldn’t?  We love our sleep, am I right?

Despite loving sleep, we often neglect it.

We get busy, we see other things as more urgent… we compromise.

In order to avoid the vicious cycle of sleep deprivation, we need to make sure we’re scheduling enough time for sleep.

Eight hours is often what is said to be healthy, but keep in mind, you may need more sleep.  I think if I could get 9 hours of sleep per night, that would be my sweet spot.  I’ve DEFINITELY not been getting that much sleep, but I’m going to try to change that.

If you have adrenal fatigue, or an autoimmune condition, or depression, or a host of other things, you might also need a bit more sleep than average.

Give yourself the sleep you need, and watch how your productivity will increase.
